WHO WE ARE
World Wise is a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading knowledge of the world through interactive lessons and games for students across the US. In today's global society, an understanding of cultures and peoples different from us is imperative to fostering meaningful connections and fruitful partnerships with countries outside our own. However, many students in the US do not receive a formal geography education in schools across the country. It was through this realization that World Wise was founded, aimed at providing free lessons to elementary and middle school students about geography, cultures, and languages around the globe.

In our lessons, we teach students about different states in the US and also about different countries. We strive to teach students why geography can be such a rewarding subject to pursue, encouraging them to delve deeper into this vast subject even outside the classroom. Ultimately, our goal is to make students excited to learn more about the world and understand what it means to be a global citizen.

We aim to increase global knowledge by offering free geography lessons to elementary and middle school students. These lessons will have a presenter provide information about a country, including its location, cities, languages, and attractions. The presenters are students who have studied geography in their own middle school career and thus, can impart their gained knowledge and also their inspiration to pursue the subject. Throughout these lessons, we will also try to hold Mystery Skype sessions, where a class of kids from an unknown location will try to guess where we are and we will try to do the same for them by asking yes or no questions. In a similar way, we will have groups from around the country paired together to solve geography puzzles presented by each other.
